Maslow have been creating a stir at weddings, corporate parties, private parties and gigs up and down the country. But little did we know our performances would see us debuting on the BBC station, Radio 2. We were approached by Andy West (BBC Producer extraordinaire) from BBC Radio 2 and asked to perform live on The Jeremy Vine show on the 3rd of July 2012.
Mr West had taken to the internet to research local cover bands to perform live on Jeremy Vines BBC Radio 2 show for the day. Our beautifully crafted website was easily found due to the SEO undertaken by MegaMind Media, Mark in particular liked the fun look and style of the band and the website.
Then the deal was closed by the great audio examples on the site showcasing our playing style and ability. The Producer Andy west loved the song choice and vibe.
Initially we thought we were on the receiving end of a wind up from our lovely pals. Little did we actually know that this was a real request, we of course accepted immediately!
In the lead up to the event we got into the studio and practised our chosen songs.
Listen to the Live tracks!
And our awesome drummer Phil was asked for an impromptu drum solo which you can listen to further down the page.
The whole day was a fantastic buzz playing live to 7 million listeners, inside a science class surrounded by school students. The BBC radio 2 Presenter Jeremy Vine, editor Phil, producer Andy West, engineers Phil and Mike were all great guys who made us feel welcome from the start and helped settle the nerves.
Jeremy Vine Jingle Success!
Just when Maslow thought things could not get better…they did! Maslow were asked to come up with a jingle for BBC Radio 2′s Jeremy Vine show and on the 7th August 2012, Maslow’s Jingle was played on air and Jeremy ‘loved it’ ! Maslow hope that the BBC Radio 2 listeners will be hearing the jingle over the next 3/4 weeks!
